Inflation Rate is down

Canada’s inflation rate fell to 2.8% in February. This was the final inflation report before the Bank of Canada’s next rate decision on April 10. If the economy and inflation evolve in line with the Bank of Canada’s projections, there may not be a rate drop, but economists expect we may see the first lowering of the bank rates at the following announcement in June.
One external factor that could impact this schedule are the decisions made by the US Federal Bank. They have indicated plans for at least three interest rate reductions this year, likely to begin shortly. If the US takes action, the Bank of Canada might act before June to align with these changes. Nevertheless, progress seems promising, indicating positive market movement in Whistler and Pemberton.
